As we had earlier reported, Sukhwinder Singh has quit Churchill Brothers from the Technical Director role that he has been donning at the club.

Sukhwinder had a difficult start to this season’s campaign. Of the four matches played, Churchill Brothers have lost two and won two, occupying the 11th position in the I-league 2013-14 standings.

In a recent I-league match, Sukhwinder was asked to leave the team dug-out by the match commissioner as he doesn’t hold the requisite qualifications to be a technical director as per guidelines.

Subhash Bhowmick who led the club to title in the 2012-13 season is widely tipped to take over the reigns from Sukwhinder.  With AIFF set to enforce the rule that Technical Directors Subhash Bhowmick, Churchill Brotherwill have to be AFC A-License holders or equivalent while coaches will have to be Pro-License holders, Subhash Bhowmick’s appointment will only server as a stop-gap arrangement.

Sukhwinder Singh and Subhash Bhowmick are not AFC A Licenser holders.
