Kerala Football Association today announced the team that will be participating in the final round of Santosh Trophy 2015to be held in Punjab from 1st to 16th March.

Santosh Trophy 2015 Format :

The format of the tournament is as follows.

Zonal Round

State teams from various zone will fight it out to gain a place in the final round of the tournament.

Final Round

Ten teams qualified from the Zonal Round, will be divided into two groups of Five teams each and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Semi-Finals.

Semi Finals

Four teams qualified from the Final Round, will play in the cross Semi-Finals

Final Round to be held in Punjab

Punjab will host the final round of Santosh Trophy. The matches will take place in Ludiahna and Jalandhar from March 1-15, 2015. Group matches in the final round will be held at both venues while the semifinal and final will take place in Ludhiana. Last time Punjab hosted the event was in 1974.

Tamil Nadu Announce Santosh Trophy 2014-2015 Squad

Tamil Nadu football Association (TFA) has announced a 20 member squad for the 69th National football championship played for the Santosh Trophy. Tamil Nadu will play the south zone qualifiers at the MSDC stadium in Manjeri. Tamil Nadu is in Group B along with Services and Pondicherry. Tamil Nadu will kick off their South Zone campaign when they meet Pondicherry on the 18th of January.

Karnataka Announce team for Santosh Trophy 2014-2015

KSFA Announced the 20 members squad for the 69th Santosh Trophy Championship. Karnataka will play the South-Zone matches at MSDA stadium in Manjeri, Kerala. Veteran Xavier Vijayakumar is leading the team.

South-Zone Santosh Trophy to Kick Off in Manjeri

More football to Malappuram this season and deservedly so. After the state inter-district, south zone national sub junior championships, Malappuram is next going to witness South Zone Santosh Trophy Championship.

69th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2014-15 (South Zone) will be held at MDSC Stadium, Manjeri, Malappuram from 15th – 20th January 2015. An organizing Committee is formed with K. P. Anilkumar ,Minister for tourism as Chairman and V. M. Ummer Master MLA as General Convener. Ommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala will inaugurate the qualifying south zone matches by 6.30 PM on Thursday,15^th of January. The inaugural match will be played between Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

Federation Cup 2013-14 – Kochi & Manjeri – Fixtures

Federation Cup 2013-14 comes to kerala. Kochi and Manjeri will host the matches. Teams are divided in to four groups – A,B,C &D.

Group A & C matches will take place in Kochi and Group B & D matches at Manjeri.

Football fans in Malappuram has been waiting for ever for a top level tournament to take place in the district. They will be duly rewarded when they get to see top I-league teams and a host of other teams looking to get promoted to the top tier of the country playing.

The semi-finals and finals of Federation Cup 2013-14 will take place in Kochi. Eagles FC is the only Kerala out fit in the competition.

Kochi and Manjeri to host Federation Cup 2014

Bringing joy to all football fans in Malappuram, AIFF has confirmed that Federation Cup 2014 will be played in Kochi and Manjeri starting from January 14th. Sixteen teams divided in to four groups will battle it out in the competition.

With the withdrawal of Lansing FC, the hosts Kerala will be represented by Eagles FC Kochi.

The venues are as follows:

Group A and Group C: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Cochin

Group B and Group D: MDS Complex, Manjeri

Semifinals and Final: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Cochin

Three new teams and a new logo for Federation Cup

AIFF released a new logo for the upcoming Federation Cup that will be hosted in Kerala.

United Sikkim replaces Mumbai Tigers in Group D, and the third and fourth placed Teams of last year’s I-league 2nd division – Bhowanipore FC and Langnsing FC will join United Sikkim in Group D.

Will a Kerala team participate in Federation cup?

With Kerala being the hosts for the next Federation Cup, the big question is will a Kerala team get to participate?

With no team in the fray for I-league and no team reaching the final stages of I-league second division last time around, technically there is no place for any Kerala team in the Federation Cup.

If Malayalam media reports are to go by, Kerala FA will be placing a request to AIFF to include a Kerala team for Federation Cup. Kerala Police, SBT and Eagles FC are the names that are being touted. AIFF’s indifference towards departmental clubs means, if a slot is allowed, Eagles FC has a fair chance to make it.

Manjeri, in Malappuram district would be the venue if the ongoing stadium construction gets completed by the time of the championship.
