IMG – Reliance the Indian version of the management agency caused a stir among the Indian football fans with the now postponed Indian Super League. We will have to wait and see what beholds the Indian Super League now.
India will be hosting the 5th AFC Medical Conference in April 2015, the organisers announced on Tuesday, giving an opportunity to the people in the country to understand more about the medical science behind the game of football.
“After Malaysia, Japan and Oman it is now India which has been given the privilege and honour to host the biggest sports medicine conference of Asia,” Organising Secretary, AFC Medical Conference-2015, PSM Chandran said in a release.

AIFF signed an agreement under Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) with Football Federation of Australia (FFA) to support All India Football Federation’s Grassroots Programme.
The agreement includes financial, administrative and technical support (from FFA) in the form of capacity building within the State Associations currently involved in the Grassroots Programme, Grassroots Courses and Grassroots Festivals, among many such activities.

Reports are coming through that the organizers have now postponed the upcoming Indian Super League to Sept-Nov 2014. Earlier it was decided that the league will pan from Jan to March 2014.
A joint release by AIFF and IMG – Reliance on sunday confirmed the postponement. It is said that to avoid conflicts with I-league schedule, unavailability of stadiums due to Lusofonia games are the reasons for postponement. It is decided that Indian Super League will have a permanent window of September to November starting from year 2014.

With AIFF making the announcement that the upcoming Federation Cup will be held in Kerala, the state is fumbling to decide upon a venue.
It was earlier touted that Malappuram will be hosting the tournament. Kerala Football Association President visited the stadium in Manjeri and expressed optimism in conducting the Federation cup.
Few days after the incident, it is being reported that Kozhikode will be in fact hosting the tournament. The Corporation stadium in Kozhikode is also under renovation. According to reports, there is a lot of work to be finished before November, which seems highly unlikely.
According to another report that has appeared, it seems Kozhikode District Football Association seems to have almost gave up on hosting the Federation Cup.
With the Kochi Jawahar Lal Nehru seems to be courting all kind of wrong attention for the washed out Duleep Trophy matches, Kerala Football Association seems to be in a conundrum about hosting the federation cup.

Mr. ZA Thakur Chaired All India Football Federation’s Competition Committee which meet at the AIFF Headquarters, the Football House on Wednesday (October 9). Besides Mr. Thakur and Vice-Chairman Mr. Menla Ethenpa, Mr. Debjyoti Mukherjee, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain, Mr. Deepak Sharma, Mr. Hem Chand, Mr. Babli Mandrekar, Mr. GK Shrivastava and Mr. Harish Vohra also attended the Meeting. The AIFF General Secretary Mr. Kushal Das was also present as was Mr. Anil Kamat, Director, Competitions.
The Committee unanimously decided on the following:
The Federation Cup would be held in Kerala from January 1-12, 2014.
The Santosh Trophy would be played in two phases – the Zonals and then the Final phase. While the Final Phase would be held in Siliguri, West Bengal between January 15-31, 2014, the Zonals are slated to be held between December 1-20, 2013.
Besides the U-14 Tournament for Boys would be held in Kalyani, West Bengal between November 10-30, 2013.
The Junior National Football Championship for Girls would be held in Odisha from November 20 to December 5, 2013.

Imphal, October 01 2013: The AIFF/AMFA Grassroots course is scheduled to be held from 12 to 14 October, 2013 .
All the DSAs/DFAs have been informed to submit lists of their players to take part in the course.
Football aspirants who want to participate in the course are to pay Rs.500/- as fee.
The schedule for holding the course would be notified on 7/10/2013 .

According to AIFF president Praful Patel, India will submit the bid for U-17 FIFA world cup shortly. Recently there were reports that FIFA had extended the dates for bid submission to November 15th.
Praful Patel said that the guarantees required by FIFA for hosting the world cup has been supported by Union Cabinet and the states where the matches will take places are asked to give the guarantee.
Eyeing the world cup, recently India had endowed the FIFA emblem legal protection as well.
