Manjeri to host South Zone Sub Junior National Championship 2014-15‏

Sub-Junior, Football, National, Championship, The Coca Cocla Cup, 2014-15, AIFF, Soccer, U-17, World Cup, Scouting, Zonal, Final, Round, South Zone, ManjeriIts raining football in Manjeri. The district is high on a  win in the inter-district football championship that took place at the Kottapady stadium. Football is back again and this time it is to Manjeri, the venue for last year’s Federation cup that saw huge turn out.

South Zone Sub Junior National Championship for Coca Cola Cup 2014-15 will  be conducted at Malappuram District Sports Council Ground at Manjeri from 12th to 22nd December 2014. 5 teams including Kerala, Tamil Nadu , Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Pondicherry will be competing in the championship.

New Professional Football Club unveiled in Assam – FC Guwahati

FC Guwahati, Football, Axom Sports, North East, Club, New, Proffesional, Soccer, Friendly, Anthem, Launch, AssamAxom Sports Enterprose Pvt Ltd is proud to present Guwahati’s own football team, FC GUWAHATI. For a long time it was felt that it was imperative for Axom to have its own Professional club football to bring our past glory back. FC Guwahati is the answer to this aspiration of football loving public of Axom. This initiative will give impetus to talented footballers of Axom who can aspire to play professional football for their own ‘Axomi Moromi’ team. FC Guwahati is co-owned by individuals who by their own right have achieved in their respective fields. They have combined together to create a platform for aspiring footballers of Axom. FC Guwahati plans to play top-level professional football in the years to come.

Today we are unveiling the logo of FC GUWAHATI, which expresses the vibrancy of the game of football played in Axom, meanwhile co-owner Zubin Garg is giving the finishing touches to FC GUWAHATI’s anthem-song and the kits of players will be formally released during the launching ceremony.

The process to select a professional management team is currently on. For the coaching positions foreign coaches have been short-listed and we will finalize them very soon.

Currently we are on a talent-sourcing endeavour to create the first batch of players of FC GUWAHATI. We are chalking out an integrated and comprehensive football development plan to nurture the talent of footballers of Axom. We will share on this once the plan is ready. This will include a football academy with own grounds, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a hostel among others.

.FC GUWAHATI will be formally launched in a gala-ceremony playing a foreign football team in an exhibition match. Many personalities from Bollywood and sports fraternity will be invited, & this mega event will precede the exhibition match.

We have requested Assam Football Association (AFA) and Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) for all their support to make this team a success which they have also assured to do wholeheartedly.

Sub-Junior National Football Championship for Coca Cola Cup 2014-15 will kick off on December 8th.

This tournament which will act as a platform for scouting for the upcoming 2017 U-17 World Cup that will take place in India is conducted on a zonal basis.

Jharkhand emerge champions of 36th Sub Junior Nationals

Update :

Jharkhand has been stripped of the title because of age fraud. AIFF found out that some players in the Jharkhand team is over aged.

Jharkhand walloped Goa 8-3 in the final to emerge champions.

  • The Championship will be played on basis of the following system:
Zonal Round : North, South, East, West & North East
  • Depending upon the number of participants, the teams will be divided into
  • different/single group/s and the matches will be played on a single leg leaguecum knock-out basis in their respective zones.
  • The two (2) teams qualifying for the zonal finals from each zone will qualify
    for the final competition, ten teams
Final Round:
  • Ten (10) teams qualified from the Zonal round will be divided into two (2) groups of five (5) teams each
  • Matches will be played on a single leg league basis and top two (2) teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals
  • The semi-finals and the final will be played on knock-out basis. The winnersof the semi-final matches will play in the final.

The course in Thiruvananthapuram was jointly organised by the British Council and Premier League in association with Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), All India Football Federation (AIFF), Kerala Football Association (KFA) and Goa Football Association (GFA) from 24th to 30th November 2014. The participants in the programme have been selected from the Football associations as well as from a number of NGOs, including Special Olympics, Cequin, Oscar Foundation and World Vision.

The Coaches and referees have got opportunity to train themselves from qualified Premier Skills coaches, got the skills and support to develop their own community football projects and development as referees. The UK referee trainers held a referee symposium event on 27th November. The Symposium provided the opportunity for the Premier Skills referees to experience the knowledge and understanding from national referees, referee instructors and the premier skills coaches to further enhance their knowledge and learning. The Symposium was a mixture of presentations on laws of the game, recognizing foul challenges, handball, player management and mass confrontation. The participants were fully involved in the very interactive symposium and also provided an opportunity to share knowledge and best practice ideas.

Mr. Jermy Weeks has the expertise in Coaching Community and Academy departments of Exeter City FC. He was the Head Soccer Coach at Lake Owego Sports Camp in Pennsylvania, USA. Jez Weeks joined Fulham FC and worked for Fulham FC Foundation as Sports Development Officer in London Area. He was also coaching for the Academy and Girl’s Centre of Excellence and has become the Acting Sports Development Manager in 2009 managing all the football, sport and health related development projects across London and Surrey. Jez joined the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Organising Committee where he was the Paralympic Football Competition Manager. He was involved in the Olympic Football competition across the UK and Olympic Park.

In Premier Skills Programme he is involved in the development of the syllabus for Premier Skills Phase 2 and currently runs his own Sports Consultancy Company called W 10 and provides on-going support to the development of the premier Skills Programme.

Corinne Mitchel is currently a Coach Educator at the Girls Centre of Excellence and work with all coaches and players from the age of 9-17.   She currently hold a UEFA B in coaching football and have a PTLLs award in tutoring adults. She has participated in the FA Women’s Mentoring Scheme also and holds UEFA A License.

Mr. Daniel Landstorm is a graduate in Science and Football at Liverpool John Mores University. He has achieved UEFA B Coaching qualification and gained experience of coaching around the world working in countries such as the USA, Sudan, China and Abu Dhabi. Now he is engaged in the role of Football and Multi Sport Manager overseeing all aspects of community football including Disability Sports, School Sports, Women and Girls Football and Premier League4Sport

Mr. Daniel Slaughter is currently managing five regional disability football centre of excellence programmes for FA and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. He has engaged in managed a team of coaches and developing a technical coaching programme working from the same beliefs as the Tottenhjam Hotspur Academy and England Disability Playing/Coaching philosophies. He hold UEFA B Licence, FA Youth Modules One and two and working his FA Youth Coaching Award.

Kelvin Chee is a Learning and Development Consultant and Trainer. He is a man with a vision to impact the children in his community using football. He is a Coach Educator in Malaysia with Level I Certification from Premier Skills. He is now serving as a Volunteer Coach for Matrix Community Football Club in Tman Sea Petaling Jaya.
